It is back again! Four decades ago, the Mercedes-Benz 814 ranked among the newcomers at WIKING. Its real-world brother gave distinction to the so-called light class (LK), which was produced at Daimler-Benz between 1984 and 1998. Internally referred to as LN2, this series replaced the older LP models and introduced a completely overhauled design to the market. The goal was to inaugurate modern technology and increased comfort in the classes of light trucks. Representing the most popular model of the series, the 814 was mainly used as a 7.5 ton version by forwarding companies - preferably draped in the turquoise paintwork miniaturized by WIKING and available from the factory at the time. Modern and marked by smooth services, the design of the cabin stood out thanks to its characteristically sloping window line. It was the Mercedes-Benz 814 that was used for a large variety of tasks in the 1980s and 1990s, chief among them assignments in the classic distribution service. 1998 marked the end of the LK era when the Mercedes-Benz Atego succeeded the series and ushered in the next generation of lighter trucks.
