WIKING deemed this reason enough to bring back to life the automotive past of the brewing industry in this Ruhr Valley metropolis. They chose for their reincarnation the typical beverage lorry mounted on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz short bonnet. In the fifties and sixties, the Dortmunder Union brewery ranked among the largest breweries of the time - not only in the Ruhr region but in Germany as a whole.
