This classic car from the heart of the coal-mining district on the Ruhr is seen as the bread-and-butter automobile of its time and is now among the modern classics of the first generation. The Opel Kadett B became a best-seller – it was the limousine of the “little man” and the Opel equivalent of the VW Beetle. This enabled the WIKING designers to succinctly work out the characteristic shapes – the result with many details such as the separate radiator grille is something to be proud of. In the compact class, no fewer than 2.6 million units of the Kadett were built between 1965 and 1973, which makes it one of the most successful Opel models to date. The Kadett marks an era when the Opel Works in Bochum were at the height of their importance for Germany in terms of production.
