The staggering 100 horsepower it boasted under the hood once transfigured the otherwise family-oriented VW K70 into a sports limousine – with the dashing sports strip, designed to underline its sporty nature, serving as a highly popular detail at the time. At the beginning of the seventies, the Wolfsburg car manufacturers had recognised the need for stronger engines, and the K70 came to fill this gap for two years. Consequently, the K70 was given the post-nominals “LS “ in the last two years of its production run. It was a testament to its qualities as a high performer, but failed to keep the company career of this rather square limousine from coming to a premature end. Developed prior to the takeover by NSU, the K70 remained in the product range until 1974. WIKING restores the original WIKING moulds and furnishes the K70 with the sports décor the fast-paced outfit that was characteristic of those “LS” years.
