The goal pursued by Lloyd with the luxury version of the Alexander TS was to finally make their small car socially acceptable. WIKING illustrates how the designers from Bremen wanted to achieve this objective: By giving it a salmon-coloured body design with a white roof and a healthy portion of chrome trim. At that time, the Lloyd - unlike the Beetle - was considered a small car with the prosperity flair that was associated with its Borgward parent. While it did not have its engine in the rear like the Beetle, it possessed the character of a limousine, which was appreciated by the little man. The Alexander TS" was regarded as the "deluxe" version of the Lloyd. Its deluxe appeal was most notable in the chrome-plated radiator grille - which was further enhanced by the intricate chrome lettering incorporated by WIKING."
