The silver grey design with the horizontally striped ribs on the box superstructure attest to the singularity of “Made in USA” body construction. Forming an authentic pair, the trailer is now matched with the Mercedes-Benz 1620, representing a generation of cubic vehicles that was still young in 1963. It was WIKING head Fritz Peltzer himself who stored historical design material regarding the Dorsay semi-trailer in the archive. Going with these records are photographs that show the box semi-trailer during its European launch presentation at IAA 1963. These put master model maker Alfred Kedzierski in the position to manufacture the twin-axle box semi-trailer, which broke new ground at the time. The Mercedes-Benz 1620 is the embodiment of a contemporary semi-trailer box truck, delivering a high degree of contemporary authenticity precisely because of its restrained colour combination.
