For many decades, Global Van Lines provided national and international moving services for private individuals and businesses alike. Their forerunner company was founded in 1933 by George T. Howard and was registered as Howard Van Lines in 1948. In 1957, founders Ed Schumacher, Bill Moen, Max Olsan, and Dan Heydlauff took over the company Howard Van Lines and renamed it Global Van Lines.
