The company Coast Counties Truck & Equipment Co. - in short referred to as Coast Counties Peterbilt - was one of the oldest and best-known Peterbilt dealers in the United States. No wonder that they also had the Peterbilt 359 in use as a tow truck. WIKING has revitalised the moulds to bring a contemporary original to the series. Founded in 1949, Coast Counties had its headquarters in San Jose, California. The world's oldest Peterbilt dealer is deemed a full-service dealer for heavy trucks and semi-trailers. While the company recently became a part of the Canadian Jim Pattison Group, they continue to operate under their traditional name. The Peterbilt 359 had a production run that stretched over many years and was the indisputable number one in the eighties when it came to the model selection at WIKING. After all, this US truck dominated the highways of the United States. The most distinctive features of his 1:87-scale WIKING are the striking chrome design on the radiator grille, the three axles of the tractor and the characteristically raised exhaust pipes – simply as USA-like as can be.
