WIKING MAGAZIN 2021

  • The exclusive brand publication has been published since 1994
  • About the evolution of the new Henschel HS 140

Content-rich themes - historic or otherwise - account for WIKING’s unique appeal. The story behind the model is what fascinates us. Forwarding companies that have stayed true to their original corporate identity are few and far between – “17111 Logistik“ is one of them. Founded as “Transit Transport 7111, the company operates with a fleet of blue lorries that have been regular forwarding vehicles at WIKING since the 1980s. The WIKING MAGAZINE 2021 is now devoting great attention to this topic and has dug deep into the company archives for historic photos. It is precisely WIKING's annual cycle that makes the annual magazine so multi-faceted.  It offers background information on the models and chronicles their themes and release years – all exclusively for WIKING fans. This brand publication provides orientation and lives up to its character as a chronicle.

This is how the Clark forklift truck and the Normag tractor became 1:87 models

Hot off the presses, the WIKING MAGAZINE 2021 is now available and relates yet again stories that no other model brand has to tell. Attesting to this unique ability is the composition of topics including reports on miniatures and the model chronology relating to caravans and camper vans. This time, the magazine places the focus of attention equally on the Clark forklift truck and the Normag Faktor II, recounting the story of how the large industrial models of the first post-war decade came to be moulded into 1:87 miniatures 60 years later. True stories that can also be told by models crafted from new moulds. The magazine also reports on WIKING’s approach to applying their model-making expertise to the Mercedes-Benz service and on how the Henschel HS 140 was turned into a 1:87 bonnet truck giant. Naturally, this issue also includes a review of the latest products introduced 25 and 50 years ago as well as a diorama. It tells the energetic story of life by the harbour pier in the 1960s. Finally, the WIKING Magazine 2021 builds a bridge to the present time and looks back on the new products and model upgrades that were released last year.
