With the October delivery to the specialist trade, the time has finally come! The anniversary "75 years of WIKING traffic models" is honored with an impressive illustrated book! This book is a must for all brand enthusiasts and model collectors. On 168 pages there are about 400 photos of this fascinating passion with a very individual handwriting. Because of the currency reform in 1948 it was possible for the young generation of children to discover a new playing field right after the war: WIKING cars! At the Berlin headquarters "Unter den Eichen 101" in Zehlendorf, work had begun on reconstruction immediately after the war. Company founder Fritz Peltzer and his master model builder Alfred Kedzierski seized the opportunity to put an end to the wartime models of aircraft and ships from the Wehrmacht era and to venture into another era - with car models. They were to become model legends!

WIKING pushed plastic injection molding in 1:100 scale
In 1948, there was a demand of new ideas at Wiking-Modellbau. In fact, in the adverse reality of the post-war years, motor vehicles were to help master the reconstruction in the occupied zones - as a result, the car boom takes place slowly but steadily. And Wiking-Modellbau created the big world of matching small miniatures. At first, the cars and trucks were constructed on a scale of 1:100 with simple and hot inserted wire axes. By the time the currency reform and the Marshall Plan were to ensure the reinforce of the Western occupied zones and refill of store shelves, WIKING boss Fritz Peltzer had already set the course. The first molds for plastic injection molding - still a rarity at that time - were ready to launch passenger cars, simple convertibles, but also already US tractors with trailers in a considerable assortment. A courageous step that soon made children's hearts beat faster.

Richly illustrated book tells the exclusive brand history
This large-format, richly illustrated book tells the long and exclusive story of people and models, reports of collectors and presents impressive staging of the WIKING world of transport. Authentic, largely unpublished photos from the history highlights the model-building oeuvre from its multifaceted sides. 75 years of WIKING traffic models - the anniversary is the right occasion for a big, lively book about WIKING cars!
