The WIKING VW Golf II as a sneak peak of the December novelties

Umber brown metallic – this finish has the style of a modern classic. Yet, when the Golf II was first introduced, it did not seem to possess the stuff of legends and was rather perceived as a keen everyday companion. Regardless, former and current owners of this modern classic wax lyrical about the second Golf generation as it finally featured a pleasing body when it replaced its predecessor in 1983. Given their traditionally close cooperation with Volkswagen, WIKING naturally released models closely on the heels of the original, resulting in the first models of the Wolfsburg smash hit tumbling out of the moulds while the company was still in Berlin. While sticking to the technical concept of the first Golf, the prototype of the Golf II managed to noticeably expand its dimensions and performance. Bearing the in-house designation Type 19E at VW, the Golf II was built over 6.3 million times between August 1983 and December 1992. It became a piece of automotive history as it was the first VW to be designed for automatic production with industrial robots. The Golf II was able to seamlessly build on the great sales success of the previous model.

All other December novelties will be presented shortly!
