WIKING kicks off the 2022 product year with a slight delay: There will be a combined delivery for February/April 2022 due to the delivery issues that have been caused by the pandemic. All models slated for February will be delivered by the retail trade and then spread across the rest of the year starting with the April delivery. This way, WIKING fans will not have to do without the models that are currently underway already. There is no denying that the framework conditions for component production by means of plastic injection moulding and for manufacturing have become increasingly difficult over the last six months. In many areas, upstream suppliers (plastic granules, packaging, etc.) were unable to keep their delivery promises. Thanks to the tremendous effort everyone at WIKING has invested, our collectors have thankfully not been affected by the clearly perceivable shortages the pandemic has brought in 2020/21.
Many alluring models with exciting background stories in the 2022 product year
“The pandemic has confronted us with a historic rupture whose ramifications require us to respond with utmost pragmatism”, declares WIKING’s General Manager Ute Schleisiek. According to her, resorting to a combined delivery will buy the company the time necessary to deliver the same extensive variety of endearing models that the WIKING world has come to expect. The company will unreservedly adhere to the models they have planned for 2022. With this newsletter and others that will follow until the release of the new items leaflets, WIKING fans will be given their first taste of the models included in the combined delivery of February/April. The complete scope of the delivery will then be presented in March - in time before the supply to retailers.
