Nuremberg Toy Fair 2026

  • VW T3 camper van modelled after Westfalia original
  • New chassis for the Mercedes-Benz Pullman
  • Heavy short hood as a tractor unit
  • Additional convertible classics

The Nuremberg Spielwarenmesse (Toy Fair) celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2026, and WIKING celebrates with it. After all, the traditional model makers rank among the founding members of this eminent international trade fair. As tradition dictates at WIKING, their booth at the trade show offers a foretaste of their upcoming innovations - an outlook that, in view of ongoing projects, may very well extend into 2027. Showcasing famous classics on the 1:87 scale along with automotive legends possessing the character of modern classics, WIKING lets model fans rejoice. The new additions rolling into the selection include the legendary Hummer and the Lancia Delta Integrale. What is more, WIKING did not forget the modern classic enthusiasts among “Bulli” fans and, therefore, launches the VW T3 as a Westfalia camper van. In an attempt to delight truck friends, WIKING has furnished the Mercedes-Benz Pullman with the 2-axle chassis that was typical of the series and has complemented the new construction site heavy-duty short hoods from Mercedes-Benz with the two-axle tractor unit version, shortly ahead of series production.

Hummer H1 released with a flatbed and as a station wagon

WIKING is unveiling a first “Silberling” study at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, which will be subsequently refined with additional versions in the course of further development. Two variants have currently been implemented: a four-door flatbed model and a closed station wagon. The 1:87 scale miniaturisation makes the ground clearance that dominates this type of vehicle particularly striking. Down the road, the axles of the 1:87 scale model will be realised as moving axles. Naturally, the model would not be complete without the optional add-on cow catcher. The interior has been designed such that it can be used with and without the boot. The Hummer H1 was built in the early 1990s as a civilian version of the military off-road vehicle HMMWV (Humvee), which was developed by AM General for the US Army. The Humvee had been in use since 1985 and became famous the world over through the Gulf War. At the initiative of Arnold Schwarzenegger, AM General began producing the Hummer for the civilian market in 1992 – initially under the simple moniker of “Hummer”, which was later changed to H1. The H1 shared the same technology as the Humvee - including its robust portal axles and great ground clearance for optimal off-road capabilities. Production ran from 1992 to 2006 and turned out a total of around 12,000 units.

Lancia Delta Integrale – family car and rally racing icon

It earned a chapter in Italy’s automotive history: WIKING uses the Lancia Delta Integrale as an opportunity to give viewers a peek at a first model study on the occasion of the Nuremberg Toy fair - the detailed “Silberling” is already under development and will be unveiled in 2027. The three versions that are being developed at present are the Delta HF Integrale Evo 2 Rallye, the Delta HF Integrale Evo 2, and the Delta HF Integrale 16V. Before long, the Delta HF Integrale Evo 2 Rallye will boast a motor sports body with wide fenders and be treated to a spoiler upgrade at the rear roof that is paired with a roll cage with front bucket seats and attached extra headlamps. The spoiler on the rear roof joined by the standard headlamps and the four-seat interior are the stand-out features of the second variant - the Delta HF Integrale Evo 2. The Lancia trio conceived by WIKING is rounded out by the Delta HF Integrale 16V. It is distinguished by modified front and rear bumpers, smaller headlamps and a custom front seat design. The real-life sibling of the Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2 constituted the final and most powerful road version of the rally legend Delta HF Integrale and was built from 1993. Even back then, the Lancia earned legendary status - not least because of its wide fenders. This feature combined with the 215 hp turbo engine and the permanent all-wheel drive turned the original into one of the most iconic "hot hatches”. The Lancia Delta Integrale delivered the same impressive performance on the road and on the race track. It enjoys a large fan base, which is also reflected in its tremendous value as a collector's item.

Westfalia camper van based on the VW T3

The gap in the type chronology of the “Bulli” camper van is soon to be narrowed yet again. With the VW T3, WIKING fans will soon get their hands on a 1:87 miniaturization of the series-production van with and without a raised roof. For their trade fair “Silberling”, WIKING has opted for the T3 sporting the raised roofs of the T2, which will, of course, be tweaked into a true-to-the-original version in the course of further development. Naturally, WIKING will later manufacture the camping roofs with utmost attention to detail to create precise and authentic replicas of the original. The T3 is the third generation of the VW transporter and was produced from 1979 to 1992. It was the last model with a rear engine before VW switched to the front engine with the T4, furnishing the “Bulli” with a longer hood for the first time as well. The Westfalia version turns the T3 into the ideal camper van with superior manoeuvrability. Fans of then and today justly rave about its fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, sink, and refrigerator. These creature comforts were accompanied by a pull-out board and numerous storage compartments. The raised roof afforded passengers added standing clearance.

Convertibles ranging from Economic Miracle models to modern classics

The ongoing popularity of the recreational passenger vehicles of the Economic Miracle era has encouraged WIKING to expand the project of convertible classics, which had begun earlier with individual types of classics. This transforms the previously closed-body counterparts into appealing convertible versions, enhanced by existing interior fittings, an open folding roof and specially developed new windscreen glazing. Put on display are the first production samples of the convertibles of the Opel Rekord P1, the Ford 17M, and the Karmann Ghia. These models are joined by the DKW Junior Cabrio as well as “Silberlinge” of the DKW F 89, the VW 1600, and the Opel Ascona B.

Heavy Mercedes-Benz short hood - 2-axle tractor unit

When they unveiled the “Silberling” in 2025, WIKING still held back the entire range of development, initially limiting the presentation to the construction site vehicle with a 3-axle chassis. The 2-axle tractor unit has also been fully developed in parallel, which also suits the impressive bonnet well as a semi-trailer vehicle. Attractive models of this classics will enrich the product selection this year.

Pullman driver’s cab receives 2-axle chassis

Last, but not least, an exciting type addition awaits both fans of the brand and 1:87-scale collectors: The Pullman cab-over-engine is now elevated by an additional everyday model. This is made possible by a new, two-axle chassis, enhancing the type range of the Pullman generation made by Mercedes-Benz.

They are all here: Ape TM, Citroën 2 CV Fourgonnette, and Toyota Land Cruiser

The display cases at the trade fair booth presented them as volume production models for the first time - exuding the charm that is typical of WIKING. The Ape from Piaggio, the Italian transport vehicle that is sure to blaze a trail for itself anywhere thanks to its narrow-gauge design, is slated for delivery in 2026. Modelled after the original Ape TM, which was built from 1982, the 1:87-scale model illustrates that its real-life brother was larger than its predecessors and possessed a longer wheelbase as well. A previously unreleased version with tilting flatbed completes the series. The same prestigious model-making status is held by the Citroën 2 CV Fourgonnette. WIKING has miniaturised two versions of the real-life Fourgonnette, which was once delivered as a classic van without windows and as a version with front windows. The result comprises two gorgeous models that were not forced to relinquish to details typically found in the original. This is thanks to the front headlamps, which are inserted as dedicated components on both sides of the radiator hood, bestowing the desired level of detail on this model. Joining the ranks of off-road vehicles which are preferably categorised under the term SUV is a grand all-wheel classic that was widely sold in Europe and thus in Germany as well. The compact version of the Toyota Land Cruiser, sporting a short wheelbase and equipped with different tyres, is headed to collectors.

New addition to John Deere’s 7R series

WIKING is updating the successful tractor series of John Deere in 2026. The models included in the 7R series come with a nominal power ranging between 270 and 350 hp, which is reflected in their subsequent type designation. This level of power is mirrored in the powerful look of the tractors that were miniaturised in the 1:32 precision scale. The visual differences of the John Deere 7R series represent a shift in design towards tractors that more closely resemble cars: The bonnet is pulled down deep towards the front, making the vehicle look more aerodynamic than ever before. This modification is accompanied by wide, accentuated air intakes and character-defining LED lighting. WIKING remains true to themselves with the John Deere 7310R by producing a 1:32-scale model that delivers the highest possible level of detail. The front and rear tyres come with a heavy-duty tread that is customary in agriculture, and the wheels can be changed as needed. Rich in detail, the design of the John Deere wheel rims strikes the eye immediately. The premium quality of this WIKING tractor model is also reflected in its blend of materials. The entire lower assembly is made of metal, as are the bonnet and the frame encasing the engine. While other installed components are manufactured from high-quality plastics, all parts making up this vehicle have been imprinted in a way that is true to the original.
