Menck excavator

It’s a real dragline excavator giant in 1:87 scale: The functionality of the powerful upper carriage is extremely impressive - above all, the WIKING model builders were able to transfer the backhoe excavator equipment, with its smoothly working cable mechanism, to 1:87 scale. Thanks to the use of rubberised cables, the bucket arms with their powerful prototype toothed racks make it quite straightforward to reproduce the lifting of the load by the construction machine. On top of that comes the true-to-prototype printing with the huge lettering and trademark of Menck-Hambrock, as well as the obligatory warning notices. WIKING connoisseurs remember the Menck excavator very clearly. It was once built in 1:60 scale as a publicity model for Menck-Hambrock, and was later issued in a revitalised form. It was a simple display and publicity model. Only decades after the industry order from Menck did the complete reconstruction of the model in 87-fold miniaturisation take place. It trumped the original thanks to its new functionality and attention to detail.
