Fans of lorries that have become modern classics will rejoice: WIKING introduces the Volvo F88 from Sweden as a triple-axle lorry with steel flatbed. This model closes yet another gap in the already multi-faceted selection of lorries. The traditional model makers are also adding to the collector’s summer fun by unveiling a host of true-to-the-original classics. Foremost among them is the Ponton convertible of the Mercedes-Benz 220 S Cabrio, which even as a 1:87 model demonstrates in impressive fashion why the fifties passenger vehicle became an automotive classic. WIKING is adding some variety to their model line-up by revealing the Ford Escort with a blue-stripe racing design and the space miracle of an estate car, the Volvo 850. These out-of-the-ordinary vehicles are joined by the Unimog 406 draped in red and white Gasolin colours. The last generation Magirus ever made of their square hood rolls into the line-up as a flatbed semi-trailer truck with a 40-foot container as well as with the contemporary Blumhardt rear tipper trailer. The selection is rounded out by a revival of traditional and venerable WIKING themes - chief among them the VW T1, decked out in the colours of “Transit Transport Flensburg”.
