The Swiss retail company Migros has been dominating the grocery store market in the Alps since 1925 thanks to its ability to supply all parts of the country in a dependable manner day in and day out. The fact that the company relied on the spacious Citroën HY vending truck for a long time comes as no surprise. Besides abundant storage space, the French vehicle also offered the ability to sell goods directly from the delivery truck. WIKING used the December delivery as an opportunity to complete the line of authentic vehicles utilised by the Swiss retail company. French automaker Citroën introduced the HY as a van in 1947 – and, thus, one year ahead of the release of their famous 2CV. Particularly striking: The sides of the body looked as if they had been planked with corrugated sheet metal. The vehicle was manufactured from 1947 until 1981.
