New models August 2022

  • Reunion with the “egg” caravan from Sportberger
  • Premium Mercedes-Benz 220 S convertible with beige flanks
  • Magirus-Deutz square hood as a heavy-duty workhorse
  • Henschel with new box semi-trailer

WIKING looks back on 70 years of German automotive history! The new items delivered to the retail trade in August give the traditional model makers an opportunity to present a wide variety of classic and modern classic 1:87 scale miniatures. One example is the début of a Mercedes-Benz with a new rear tipper semi-truck, whose real-life counterpart became increasingly popular in the late sixties – primarily as a version with wooden flanks. This model is joined by the last square hood generation by Magirus Deutz, which graces us with its presence as a heavy-duty tractor unit. The massive vehicle comes equipped with both a crane and a heavy load flatbed. Just how awe-inspiring the post-war bonnet trucks truly were is demonstrated by the twin-axle box semi-trailer with Henschel tractor unit. For the first time, this combination is released with a box semi-trailer and door engravings on the side. Draped in the colours of Bruns Heizkessel, this classic reminds us of the beginnings of central heating systems during Germany’s Economic Miracle. Their instinctive touch and obvious devotion to detail come clearly to the fore whenever WIKING releases models that celebrate attractive themes in automotive history. The Borgward B 611 rolls up as a customer service vehicle decked out in Kreidler colours and delivering no fewer than two Floretts to the customer. Another fantastic addition to the fleet of attractive Bölling vehicles is the high-side tipper mounted on a MAN chassis. Another exquisite newcomer is the Büssing 4500, a dairy van that reminds us of the C. Bolle dairy. Those who prefer models of more recent days will delight in the taxi version of the VW 411, the Ford Granada and the Mercedes-Benz NG, which rolls into the line-up as a car transporter.
